7th District Scholarships Awarded

The annual 7th District Benevolent Fund Scholarships have been awarded.  This year there were 47 applicants that were all sensational in academics and writing skills.  The winners of $750 scholarships are Kai Parkinson, son of Summer Parkinson of Local 2878 (Eastside FireFighters) and Reagan Wells, son of David Wells of Local 1828 (Snohomish 1 FF's).  The winners of $500 scholarships are as follows:  Connor Cleaver, son of Ryan Cleaver of Local 149 (Boise FF's), Matthew Heseltine, son of Rich Heseltine of Local 31 (Tacoma FF's), Karissa Stubblefield, daughter of Todd Stubblefield of Local 404 (Walla Walla FF's), Breaker Chittenden, son of Jeffrey Chittenden of Local 2781 (Snohomish 7 FF's), Grace Schwenk, daughter of Michael Bowman of Local 2457 (Missoula Rural FF's) and Connor Leuck, son of Aaron Leuck of Local 149 (Boise FF's).  We extend congrats to all these graduating Seniors.  This years question for essay was "What is most problematic about American politics and how can it be fixed?".  Two of the essays are attached for you to read.
